“The Fairhaven Recreation Department partners with nurses from the community to bring yoga & meditation to healthcare workers & first responders!
In honor of nurse’s week & mental health awareness month, this wellness event is free to the community & is a token of their appreciation for healthcare workers & first responders.
Danielle Mongeau, RN, BSN, brings her background of emergency nursing & holistic nurse coaching together. She is certified as a transformative nurse coach through the Nurse Coach Collective, certified as a guided meditation teacher through Meditation Alliance International, & certified as a nutrition coach through the National Academy of Sports Medicine.
Vanessa Machado, RN, BSN, with over a decade of experience in acute care & critical care, is pursuing advanced psychiatric nursing education, as well as stress management & resiliency training (SMART) at the Benson Henry Institute for Mind Body Medicine at Massachusetts General Hospital.
Sarah DaCosta, a certified yoga instructor with a background in special education, offers her skills in trauma-sensitive mindfulness & sound therapy. Together, the three of them aim to nurture the well-being of those who tirelessly serve their communities.”
Partake in yoga, meditation & a sense of community among fellow healthcare workers & first responders. Connect with other healthcare workers, share experiences, & build a supportive community for the healthcare workforce. Align your body & mind through a calming, adaptive style yoga session which incorporates stress relieving poses & breathing techniques. Yoga mats will be provided for each individual. Guided meditation aims to elicit the relaxation response, helping to counteract the lasting impact of the stressful & challenging environments where we provide care.
